Ethics and independence
EPI-PHARE is a Scientific Interest Group (GIS) created by the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety (ANSM) and the French National Health Insurance (CNAM). Its mission is based on strict principles of independence, transparency, and scientific rigor.
Scientific and financial independence
EPI-PHARE is a Scientific Interest Group under the joint supervision of ANSM and CNAM, two public institutions.
It is entirely publicly funded by grants from the ANSM and the CNAM, and excludes any private funding. No collaboration of any kind is established with private actors. This financial independence rules out any possibility of external influence on its work.
The studies conducted by EPI-PHARE are based solely on rigorous scientific data and validated methodologies, free from any industrial, economic, or political pressure. This absolute independence is a founding principle of its work.
Ethical requirements and declaration of interests
EPI-PHARE complies with the ethical requirements of the ANSM.
EPI-PHARE agents systematically declare their interests in accordance with the regulations in force. These public declarations of interests (DPI) are available on the Ministry of Health’s DPI Santé website.
The experts consulted in the context of studies are selected in accordance with ANSM rules on the use of external expertise. DPIs of external experts are also available on the DPI Santé website.
Dissemination of results and promotion of EPI-PHARE’s results
The results of studies are disseminated publicly to health authorities, healthcare professionals, and the general public in the interests of transparency and public health.
In order to contribute to the dissemination of new scientific knowledge, EPI-PHARE has its results peer-reviewed by publishing its work in peer-reviewed journals and participates in national and international conferences.
Compliance with regulations
All EPI-PHARE activities comply with current regulations and good ethical practices in research.
